  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated white sugar

  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla bean paste or extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • nonpareils for sprinkling on top (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F (175C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder in a bowl; set aside.
  3. Cream butter and sugars until fluffy, then mix in egg yolks and vanilla.
  4. Gradually combine dry ingredients with the wet mixture until just mixed.
  5. Scoop dough onto the baking sheet and create indentations using your thumb.
  6. Bake for about 10 minutes; cool slightly before filling centers with ganache made from heated cream poured over chocolate chips.
