  • cup butter (softened)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • teaspoon salt
  • 1 cups all-purpose flour
  • cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 pint strawberries (hulled and sliced)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • cup powdered sugar
  • 8 ounces Cool Whip (thawed)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F. Thaw Cool Whip and slice strawberries.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat softened butter and sugar until creamy. Add eggs, baking powder, and salt; mix well.
  3. Alternate adding flour and milk to the mixture while beating until smooth. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Pour batter into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and bake for 1820 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool completely.
  5. In another bowl, combine cream cheese with powdered sugar and thawed Cool Whip until smooth.
  6. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cooled cake layer and top with sliced strawberries.
  7. Chill in the refrigerator for at least three hours before serving.
