  • 1 lb ground turkey (93% lean)
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp chopped cilantro
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 4 leaves of lettuce
  • 1 small red onion, sliced
  • 1 white onion, sliced (optional)
  • 4 burger buns

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground turkey with chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Form the mixture into four equal patties, making an indentation in the center of each.
  3. Refrigerate the patties for 30 minutes to firm them up.
  4. Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat and cook the patties for 5-7 minutes on each side until they reach an internal temperature of 165F.
  5. While cooking, prepare the southwest sauce by mixing mayonnaise with lime juice, cilantro, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  6. Toast the burger buns until golden brown and assemble by spreading sauce on each bun half and adding the cooked patties and toppings.
