  • 1/2 cup reduced sodium soy sauce or tamari
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons minced ginger
  • Black pepper
  • Red chili pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, vegetable oil, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, black pepper, chili flakes, and green onions.
  2. Reserve 1/4 cup of marinade mixed with rice vinegar in a separate bowl; refrigerate.
  3. Place the remaining marinade and flank steak in a resealable bag; marinate for at least 1 hour (up to 12 hours).
  4. Preheat the grill on high heat; grease grill grates.
  5. Grill steak for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium rare (internal temp 120°F to 125°F).
  6. Let the steak rest for 10 minutes before slicing against the grain.
  7. Drizzle with reserved marinade before serving.
