  • 1 and 1/3 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 and 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 and 1/2 tablespoons cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350F (175C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl or stand mixer, beat softened butter until smooth. Add granulated sugar and brown sugar; mix until fluffy.
  3. Incorporate eggs and vanilla, blending until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt, and cream of tartar; gradually mix into wet ingredients without overmixing.
  5. Scoop dough into balls (about 2 inches in diameter) and roll in cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  6. Place on prepared baking sheets with enough space between each cookie.
  7. Bake for about 9-11 minutes until edges are set but centers are shiny.
  8. Allow to cool on the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
