  • 4 potatoes
  • 4 zucchini
  • 4 eggplants
  • 1 kg minced beef
  • 800 grams crushed canned tomatoes
  • 200 grams Kefalograviera cheese
  • 150 grams unsalted butter
  • 1 litre milk
  • 2 egg yolks
  • Spices: salt, pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg, thyme, oregano

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 165C (fan-forced).
  2. Slice potatoes, zucchini, and eggplants into rounds. Fry in olive oil until golden; drain on paper towels.
  3. Saut chopped onion and garlic in a large pot until translucent. Add minced beef; cook until browned.
  4. Stir in crushed tomatoes and spices; let simmer for about 10 minutes.
  5. For bchamel sauce: melt butter, add flour to form a paste, then gradually mix in milk until thickened. Stir in egg yolks and cheese.
  6. In a baking dish, layer potatoes, eggplants, zucchini, meat sauce, and top with bchamel.
  7. Bake for approximately 40 minutes or until golden brown on top.
