  • ½ cup orange marmalade

  • For the frosting: ½ cup unsalted butter, 8 ounces cream cheese, powdered sugar, and orange zest

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
  3. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, marmalade, vanilla extract, zest, and juice; mix well.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients alternately with milk until combined.
  5. Divide batter between pans and bake for 26 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a rack.
  7. For frosting: Beat softened butter and cream cheese with powdered sugar and zest until smooth. Frost cooled cakes as desired.
