  • 1 & teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • teaspoon salt
  • cup unsalted butter
  • cup white sugar
  • cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • ? cup pumpkin puree
  • cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • cup maple syrup for icing
  • teaspoon ground cloves for icing
  • teaspoon ground cinnamon for icing
  • cup chopped pecans for icing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325F (163C).
  2. In one bowl, mix together dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, cloves, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream butter with white and brown sugar until smooth.
  4. Add egg, maple syrup, and pumpkin puree; mix until combined.
  5. Gradually fold in the dry ingredients followed by half of the chopped pecans.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a cookie sheet spaced apart.
  7. Bake for 1315 minutes until edges are golden.
  8. Cool on a rack before icing with a mixture of powdered sugar and maple syrup.
