  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 23 fresh jalapenos, finely chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by mixing warm water and sugar in a bowl. Sprinkle yeast on top and let it froth for 5-10 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center.
  3. Pour in the activated yeast mixture, olive oil, and chopped jalapenos into the well. Stir until combined.
  4. Knead dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise until doubled (about 1 hour).
  6. Punch down the dough gently, shape into a loaf, and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Let rise again for another hour.
  7. Preheat oven to 375F (190C) and bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.
