Ground Beef Philly Cheesesteaks are the ultimate comfort food that brings the flavors of Philadelphia to your table. This easy-to-follow recipe features savory ground beef, sauted onions, and bell peppers, all topped with gooey melted cheese and served in warm hoagie rolls.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 4 slices provolone cheese (or cheese of choice)
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a drizzle of olive oil.
  2. Saut the sliced onions and bell peppers until tender, about 3-5 minutes. If using mushrooms, add them now and cook for an additional 3 minutes.
  3. Push the veggies aside, add ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula; cook until browned (5-7 minutes).
  4. Season with garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper; mix well for another 2 minutes.
  5. Reduce heat to low, place cheese on top of the mixture, cover to melt (2-3 minutes).
  6. Slice hoagie rolls lengthwise without cutting all the way through.
  7. Spoon the beef mixture into each roll and serve immediately.
