- Water, vegetable oil, whole eggs (as directed on cake mix box)
- Red gel food color
- Blue gel food color
- 1/2 cup Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Vanilla Frosting
- Optional: Betty Crocker™ Red, White & Blue Sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 12-cup fluted tube cake pan with baking spray.
- In a large bowl, mix cake mix, water, oil, and eggs using an electric mixer for about 2 minutes. Set aside.
- Divide batter into three bowls: tint one red and one blue using gel food colors.
- Pour red batter into the pan first, followed by white (remaining) batter, and then blue batter in the center.
- Bake for 39–44 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool completely before frosting.
- Drizzle melted frosting in stripes over the cooled cake and top with sprinkles.
