Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (cold)
  • 1 cup + 2 tbsp semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tbsp dark cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp espresso powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 tbsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350F (180C) and line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a stainless steel pan, brown the butter over medium heat until nutty and golden, about 10-12 minutes. Transfer to a bowl.
  3. Stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until melted and smooth; set aside.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, espresso powder, and salt.
  5. In a mixing bowl, beat eggs with sugar and vanilla using an electric mixer until fluffy.
  6. Gradually add the melted butter and chocolate mix while mixing on low speed until just combined.
  7. Fold in dry ingredients gently with a rubber spatula just until incorporated.
  8. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  9. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
