  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine equal parts water and sugar (about 1 cup each). Stir until it boils.
  3. Allow syrup to boil without stirring until it reaches 300F (150C) for hard crack stage.
  4. Dip each skewer in the hot syrup and swirl quickly to coat.
  5. Place on parchment paper to cool completely.
