  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • teaspoon salt
  • cup warm milk
  • cup unsalted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 cups fresh strawberries

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Mix in softened butter, egg, salt, and flour until a soft dough forms. Knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  3. Place the dough in a greased bowl and let rise for about 1-1.5 hours until doubled.
  4. Prepare the cream cheese filling by mixing softened cream cheese with sugar and vanilla until smooth.
  5. Cook chopped strawberries with sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice in a saucepan until thickened. Let cool.
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and layer cheesecake filling followed by cooled strawberry filling.
  7. Roll tightly into a log and cut into 12 pieces; place in a greased baking dish and let rise again for 30-45 minutes.
  8. Bake at 350F for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Drizzle with glaze made from powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla before serving.
