  • 10 cups cubed sourdough or French bread
  • 1 large onion, finely diced
  • 2 cups celery, finely chopped (about 34 stalks)
  • 2 tbsp fresh sage, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh thyme, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 4 cups low-sodium chicken or vegetable broth
  • cup unsalted butter, melted
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F (175C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt a tablespoon of butter. Add diced onion and chopped celery; saut until soft and translucent (about 5-7 minutes).
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine cubed bread, sauted vegetables, chopped herbs, melted butter, and broth. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish. Cover with foil and bake for about 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown on top.
