  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F (175C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla, red food coloring, cocoa powder, flour, and salt until just combined.
  3. Reserve 1/4 cup of the batter for swirling and pour the remaining batter into the prepared pan.
  4. In another bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth; add powdered sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until creamy.
  5. Spread cream cheese mixture over brownie batter in the pan. Drop spoonfuls of reserved brownie batter on top and swirl gently with a knife.
  6. Bake for 3540 minutes until set in the center. Cool completely before slicing.
