Ingredients

  • Pizza Dough
  • Ricotta Cheese
  • Mozzarella Cheese
  • Italian Sausage (or vegetables)
  • Olive Oil
  • Marinara Sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Roll out pizza dough on a floured surface to 1/8 inch thick and cut into 4-inch circles.
  2. In a bowl, mix ricotta, mozzarella, cooked sausage (or veggies), salt, pepper, and herbs.
  3. Place 1 tablespoon of filling in the center of each circle; fold over and seal edges securely.
  4. Heat olive oil in a pot to 350F (175C). Fry calzones in batches for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. Drain on paper towels and serve with marinara sauce.
