  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • ? cup dark brown sugar (or light brown sugar)
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoons instant coffee granules
  • 2 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 4 tablespoons heavy cream
  • teaspoon instant coffee granules

Instructions

  1. Prepare Tangzhong by whisking together water and flour in a saucepan; cook until thickened.
  2. Combine dry ingredients: flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  3. Mix wet ingredients: Warm milk with instant coffee; add egg and tangzhong to dry mix.
  4. Knead dough until smooth; let rise until doubled in size.
  5. Prepare filling by mixing butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and coffee.
  6. Roll out dough, spread filling, cut into strips, and roll into individual buns.
  7. Allow rolls to rise again before baking at 325F for 2023 minutes.
