  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • cup vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups butter (softened)
  • 10 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbs vanilla extract
  • 10 tbs heavy cream
  • Pinch of salt
  • Green gel food coloring
  • Star sprinkles and Christmas pearls (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325F and line a cupcake pan with liners.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine vegetable oil, eggs, and water. Add the cake mix and mix until smooth.
  3. Fill each cupcake liner about two-thirds full with batter and bake for 15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  4. Cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  5. For the frosting, beat softened butter in a stand mixer until fluffy. Gradually add powdered sugar and heavy cream, then mix in vanilla and salt. Add green gel food coloring until the desired shade is reached.
  6. Frost cooled cupcakes using a piping bag to create tree shapes, then decorate with sprinkles.
