  • For the filling: unsweetened cocoa powder, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, softened butter
  • For the glaze: unsweetened cocoa powder, powdered sugar, heavy cream

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix lukewarm milk with dry yeast and let sit until foamy (5–10 minutes).
  2. Combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt in a stand mixer; blend well.
  3. Add egg, melted butter, and yeast mixture; knead for about 3 minutes until smooth.
  4. Cover the dough and let it rise at room temperature until doubled (1.5–2 hours).
  5. Prepare the filling by mixing the ingredients together.
  6. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle; spread with softened butter and sprinkle filling evenly.
  7. Roll tightly into a log and cut into 9–11 pieces; place in a greased baking dish.
  8. Allow to rise again (30–60 minutes), then bake at 350°F for 20–25 minutes.
  9. Cool slightly before glazing with a mixture of powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and cream.
