  • 100 g butter
  • 500 ml milk
  • 100 g white sugar
  • 7 g active dry yeast
  • 640 g all-purpose flour
  • 60 g dark cocoa powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 150 g brown sugar (for filling)
  • 120 g cream cheese (for frosting)
  • 4 tbsp milk (for frosting)
  • 120 g powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 1 tbsp dark cocoa powder (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan and combine with warm milk and sugar until dissolved. Sprinkle yeast on top and let sit until frothy.
  2. Mix flour, cocoa powder, and salt in another bowl, then gradually add to the yeast mixture along with vanilla extract.
  3. Knead dough on a floured surface until smooth, then let rise for about an hour until doubled.
  4. Roll out dough into a rectangle, spread with butter curls, and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Roll tightly into a log and slice into equal pieces. Let rise again for 30 minutes.
  6. Bake at 180C (350F) for about 30 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Prepare frosting by mixing cream cheese, milk, powdered sugar, and cocoa powder until smooth.
  8. Frost rolls after cooling slightly.
