  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter (for filling)
  • cup mini chocolate chips (for filling)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (for glaze)
  • 1 ounce cream cheese (for glaze)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine water and cup flour over medium heat until thickened. Let cool.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine cooled mixture with flour, sugar, yeast, salt, heavy cream, milk, egg, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
  3. Allow dough to rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 90 minutes).
  4. Prepare the filling by creaming together butter and mini chocolate chips.
  5. Roll out dough into a rectangle and spread filling evenly.
  6. Roll tightly into a log and cut into pieces; let rise again for 30 minutes.
  7. Bake at 350F (175C) for about 30 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Prepare glaze by mixing butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla; drizzle over warm rolls.
