  • 1 Ciabatta or Baguette
  • 56 Roma or Strauchtomaten (approx. 500g)
  • 2 large cloves of garlic
  • 10 large fresh basil leaves
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the tomatoes by deseeding and dicing them; press one garlic clove and set the other aside.
  2. Chop basil leaves into thin strips.
  3. In a bowl, combine diced tomatoes, chopped basil, pressed garlic, olive oil, salt, and pepper; let sit for a few minutes.
  4. Toast sliced ciabatta at 180C (350F) for 5-8 minutes until golden.
  5. Rub toasted bread with the reserved garlic clove and drizzle with olive oil.
  6. Top each slice with the tomato mixture and serve immediately.
