  • cup brown sugar
  • cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • tablespoon vanilla extract
  • teaspoon baking powder
  • teaspoon baking soda

  • cup all-purpose flour
  • cup Heath toffee bits with chocolate
  • Flaked sea salt for topping

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat until golden brown and nutty. Allow it to cool slightly.
  2. In a stand mixer bowl, combine the cooled brown butter with both sugars and beat until fluffy.
  3. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gradually add baking powder, baking soda, salt, and flour; mix on low speed until just combined.
  5. Fold in toffee bits until evenly distributed.
  6. Chill dough covered for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  7. Preheat oven to 350F (175C) and line baking sheet with parchment paper.
  8. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the sheet and sprinkle with flaked sea salt before baking for 11-13 minutes.
