  • 3.5 ounces cold cream cheese
  • cup granulated sugar
  • cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsulphured molasses
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • teaspoon cream of tartar
  • teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1/3 cup cane granulated sugar (for rolling)
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (for rolling)
  • cup Musselman's Apple Butter
  • 4 tablespoons turbinado sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F (180C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together butter, cream cheese, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and molasses until fluffy.
  3. Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract; mix until combined.
  4. Gradually add flour, baking powder, cream of tartar, and salt; mix just until combined.
  5. Roll dough into balls, coat in cinnamon-sugar mixture, indent centers, fill with apple butter, and sprinkle turbinado sugar on top.
  6. Bake for 812 minutes or until edges are set; cool on wire racks.
