Ingredients

Scale
  • 14 oz firm or extra-firm tofu
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup or agave nectar
  • 1 tbsp fresh grated ginger

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu by wrapping it in a clean towel and placing a heavy object on top for 15-20 minutes to remove excess moisture.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, maple syrup, and grated ginger until well combined.
  3. Cut the pressed tofu into bite-sized cubes or slices according to your preference.
  4. Place the cut tofu in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Let it marinate at room temperature for at least 30 minutes or refrigerate overnight for deeper flavor.
  5. Preheat your grill or oven to medium heat (375°F). Cook the marinated tofu until golden brown and crispy, about 10-15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  6. Serve warm with your favorite sides.
