  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 9×5 metal loaf pan.
  2. In a small bowl, mash the overripe bananas until smooth.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar using a hand mixer until fluffy.
  4. Mix in the eggs, mashed bananas, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt into the wet mixture; gently fold until just combined.
  6. Fold in 3/4 cup of chocolate chips.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle remaining chocolate chips on top.
  8. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow cooling for at least 20 minutes before serving.
