  • 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 4 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon chili garlic sauce (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the marinade by whisking together soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and chili garlic sauce in a mixing bowl.
  2. Place the flank steak in a shallow dish or resealable bag and pour the marinade over it. Ensure it's fully coated and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (up to overnight).
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (400°F).
  4. Remove the steak from the marinade and grill for 5–7 minutes on each side for medium rare.
  5. Let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing against the grain into thin strips.
